Stuttgart & Zurich (2022)

After rediscovering posts from my old ivodr.com blog, I decided to bring my travel stories back to life—making them accessible again and preserving the memories of an incredible journey I returned from just over two years ago.
This is Post #6. More stories to come!

Why? Because of one sad and one happy event.
The only detail about the last ten days I’d like to share is that I experienced sooooo much love and kindness and that this makes me grateful and optimistic.
Right now I’m grateful to be on a bus back to Istanbul.
The day had started with a lovely BlaBlaCar ride (my first one) with Werner. We talked about life, relationships, athletics, travels, and more.
In Munich, there was a moment of shock, when I found out that my bus to Istanbul had left without me, even though I was at the bus station 10 minutes before departure time. To be fair, while reserving I was told to be there 30 minutes before departure, but I had assumed this was just meant to prevent me from being late.
After a few intense calls with the bus company and the bus driver (they were not willing to return and pick me up), the driver told me I could travel to Istanbul with another company’s bus, leaving 2 hours later. That worked out and I bought ice cream for the driver :D
This is why now I’m particularly grateful for being on a bus to Istanbul.
Lessons learned:
- If they tell you to be there 30 minutes earlier, be there 30 minutes earlier ;)
- Skype Out (or any other tool that allows you to use the internet to call numbers anywhere in the world for a very low price) was incredibly useful throughout this trip and in particular in this situation.
